Responsibilities of the Friends of Callicroft Executive Committee (Board of Trustees)

• The maintenance of the FOC property and equipment.
• The raising of funds and the administration of the FOC finance.
• The insurance of persons, property, and equipment.

Ideally, between the nominated members, elected members, and co-opted members, the FOC Executive should include a parent, and at least one member of the teaching staff from Callicroft Primary Academy Members of the Group Executive Committee are the charity trustees of the Friends of Callicroft.

The Friends of Callicroft is an educational charity. Members of the Executive Committee are the charity trustees of the FOC.  Only persons aged 18 and over may be full voting members of the FOC Executive Committee because of their status as charity trustees. Charity trustees are responsible for complying with all the legislation applicable to charities. As a registered charity in England and Wales FOC will be required to make an annual return to the Charity Commission.

The Head of the Callicroft Primary Academy has the right to attend all meetings of the Friends of Callicroft Executive Committee.

The Friends of Callicroft must hold an Annual General Meeting within six months of the financial year-end (31st August) to:

• approve the Annual Report of the Group Executive Committee.
• approve the annual statement of accounts.
• approve the nomination of the Chairperson and nominated members of the Executive Committee.
• elect a Secretary and a Treasurer.
• elect certain members of the Executive Committee.
• appoint an auditor or independent examiner or scrutineer as required.
